Abstract (EN)
European culture and values are the arguments that parties in opposition to membership took refuge when it comes to Turkey's membership. The culture gathered within the framework of the identity of Europe is fed by Ancient Greek philosophy, Christianity and Romans. It has been accepted that "the other" perception, which grounded the work of political psychology, was shaped by the upper identity, and was transferred from generation to generation by selected traumas and elected victories. It is seen in the discourse of religious, political leaders. selected traumas and selected triumphs of The European Union and Turkey - who are geography and cultural heir of the Ottoman Empire and the Byzantine states entered race -relations. These traumas and victories are the reflections of groups in which the groups live or are proud of as a society. The Ottoman Empire, accepted as the Eastern civilization which carried out the conquest movement with the Turkish-Islamic synthesis in Europe, where the sense of "self" was shared, was placed in the minds of Europeans as the great enemy "other". Curious Eastern was written by ambassadors and voyagers and are shared as memories to own people how the other is. In this context, it is treated how he perceives Turks, whose Western world has maintained diplomatic, commercial and political relations for hundreds of years, and sometimes the enemy is sometimes allied, in travelogues and is analyzed in this study. Nowadays, the impact of the rising right in Europe on the society is enlivened by the influence of the political discourses while it is involved with the mind twins. The question can not be integrated predominantly Muslim member Turkey, which is frequently discussed by member countries. While the conflicts that have entered Turkey in the EU, the historical enemy effect to be seen as the other in the current discourse has formed the content of the study.
