Abstract (EN)

ISLAMIC FINANCE IN TURKISH BANKING SYSTEM Islamic Finance, also referred to as "Islamic banking", "interest-free finance", or "participation banking", has become a rapidly developing part of the finance and banking system in recent years. Islamic finance emerged in order to redound the idle financial resources of the people who are sensitive against interest, especially religious ones, to the economy and economic reasons played an active role in the development of this system. Moreover, the Islamic finance methods in the system are important for the understanding and probing of all aspects of interest-free banking. In this context, in the study, the examination points were, how and why the Islamic Finance System emerged and its development since its beginning until today. First of all, the reasons why Islamic Finance emerged, its history, its characteristics were mentioned and the methods of financing used in Islamic Finance were explained. Then, the development of Islamic Finance in the world and in Turkey, the current situation, the banks that implement the Islamic Finance system in Turkey, and finally the advantages and deficiencies of the system were given.
