Abstract (EN)

Cultural heritage is a spatial and temporal information source between past and today. Unfortunately, though it is regarded as common memory of humanity, in our country and all around the world, it has faced with irremediable destructions which are cause of human and nature during the history. The effects of dam project in this context on cultural heritage and underwater conservation has been studied. In chapter one, the aim and scope of the study are entered on research, method and technic. In the second section, firstly, it is examined that definition of basic concepts and types as a cultural heritage, then informed that how concept of conservation taken a part on law on our country and the world. In the last sub-section of second chapter, the place in international and national legislative framework on archaeological sites under threat of dam is probed. Section three is focus on dam investments which are already prepared and preparation process in Turkey and the world. The fourth and the most important part of the study consist of sub-sections. The archaeological site protected under the threat of dam protection from the publications applied to the conservation methods applied to the technique, methods, material selection and application successes and similar aspects of the information obtained as a result of examination of the sub-groups are collected. In the evaluation and conclusion chapters as the last chapters of the study, consequences of evaluations and conclusion discoveries has revealed, and a proposal has brought.
