The conversion of environmental policy in Turkey between the years 1980-2006

Prepared this thesis, environmental policies carried out between the years 1980-2006 and the changes of these policies are analysed. In 1982 constitation, there is an article of a law about environment. In this article it is explained that everybody have to have a right to live in haelty environment. After that, in 1983 environment law was which is the first major attemp on environment health, was made. Following this, there was many legal arrangements about environment, such as laws, regulations and improvement plans were made. When the regulations are investigated, firstly there were policies only in order to only to get rid of pollution. Later, preventing policies are appropriated. The new environment law which can be considered as a milestone was made 2006 was explained the concept of sustainable development. This law increased the criminal sanction. Having being made this national arrangements Turkey was involved in many international agreements and also tried to create necessary agrements. All of these agreements which realized recently shows that positive alteration was formed. However, this succes in determining policy haven?t been put into practice. Decisions taken and arrangenments prepared should be realized despite difficulties in practice.
