Abstract (EN)

Increasing population and diversification of industrial activities cause an increase in the need for buildings. The components of each newly constructed building interact with the environment and produce some environmental effects. The use of environmentally friendly building materials is important in reducing the environmental impact of buildings. Environmentally friendly building material; It is a building material that has the least environmental impact, uses energy efficiently, uses natural resources as little and efficiently as possible, is easy to maintain and repair, can be recycled, provides effective waste management and supports sustainability. Cement is one of the building materials that has an important place in today's construction industry, whose production process is complex and whose inputs are high. In this context, the aim of the thesis; The aim of this study is to examine the postgraduate studies on cement in Turkey and the environmental friendly approaches in related studies. The material of the thesis consists of the theses on cement building material in the YÖK National Thesis Database. The theses discussed within the scope of the study were examined in line with the research questions determined for the purpose of the research and the criteria determined based on the literature within the scope of the research. As a result of the research; It has been determined that the most prominent criterion in the theses examined is the durability criterion, and there is no study on the interior quality criterion among the theses. As a result of the examination, it has been suggested to increase the studies in which cement is discussed in detail in the context of all stages of the building material life cycle evaluation.
