Abstract (EN)
Early marriages and the phenomenon of child brides is one of the social problems encountered in our country as in the whole world. Although there has been a decrease in child bride marriages over the years, the continuation of this problem today necessitated this study. This study aims to clarify the effects of sociocultural factors on the phenomenon of child brides, the paths leading to child brides, and the individual and social problems experienced by girls in this context. As a result of the study, it was concluded that the phenomenon of child brides continues even if it is decreasing today, that it is one of the important problems of society, and that it is a reflection of gender inequality. It is thought that early and forced marriages will tend to decrease with the implementation of several programs and state policies.
