Functioning of the presidential goverment system in Turkey and comprasion with the presidential system the USA

The presidential government system, which was implemented in Turkey with the Presidential and Parliamentary General Elections on June 24, 2018, was prepared for the reasons of ensuring political stability and facilitating effective and rapid decisionmaking by eliminating ongoing system crises and unstable governments. Although the presidential system of government is a type of presidential system, there are some differences between it and the presidential system in the USA. While there are similarities between the legislative and executive powers, the fact that there is a single parliamentary system in Turkey due to its unitary state structure, as opposed to the dual-structure parliamentary system of the USA, especially in terms of legislative powers, draws attention as one of the important differences. There are two basic elements of the harsh separation between powers that determine the characteristic feature of presidential systems. The first of these is that each power is born independently of each other, and the second is that the source of each is directly the people. Although this is the situation in Turkey, holding elections simultaneously softens the sharpness in practice. The fact that the executive and legislative powers in the USA are elected at different times constitutes the most important difference from the presidential government system in Turkey in terms of creating a harsh separation between the powers and making the balance and control mechanism operational. Another difference can be seen in the relations between powers. In the USA, there is a degree of interdependence between forces. In Turkey, the mobility of the powers is higher.
