An example of vocational and technical education during the Republican Period in Turkey: Soke Agricultural School (1970-2005)

Söke Agricultural Technical High School, which served between 1970-2005 and is one of the few schools in Turkey, was tried to be investigated in depth. During the period from the foundation to the closure the Agricultural Technical High School's students, schedules and hours were discussed in terms of cultural and sporting activities. The thesis consists of four main parts, i.e. the purpose of the research, the importance of the research, the problem sentence and sub-problems, the limitations of the research, the method of the research, data sources and data collection tools. In the first section, general information about agriculture and education in Turkey is given. In particular, the focus was on agricultural education in vocational education. More specifically, data on agriculture and education were collected in Söke. In the second section, the method used in the research is mentioned in other words, the methodology of the research. In the third section, the establishment and administrative structure of Söke Agricultural Technical High School and the employment status are expressed. In the fourth chapter, the acceptance of students to the school, the procedures for covering the costs of the school, status changes and the courses taught while the school's education and training are expressed and their contents are detailed. Even Söke Agricultural Technical High School weekly course hours were compared with general high schools and other vocational high schools. In the fifth section, The sports and cultural activities of Söke Agricultural Technical High School are discussed. Furthermore, the effects of Söke Agricultural Technical High School on Turkey and Söke were discussed. In particular, as well as the leadership of agricultural machinery manufacturers, the effects of Söke agriculture and education were detailed,. Today it has evolved into Tayem and the effects of the closure of the school have been focused on Söke.
