Abstract (EN)

The digital transformation in the media is increasingly affecting the print media, and the press publishing sector is most affected by this. It is seen that the digital media, which has developed with the development of technologies and the increasing prevalence of the Internet, is in search of income from an economic point of view. Many newspapers in the world are ending their printed publications and moving their publications to digital media. The decline in advertising revenues and newspaper print circulation is driving newspapers towards digital subscriptions as a new revenue model. It is observed that digital subscriptions and business models, which are widely used by digital newspapers in America and Europe, are newly developing in Turkey. In this study, digital subscription systems, which are one of the important sources of income in digital media, have been examined and the business models applied in Turkey have been evaluated. The increase of reader subscription through "reliable news" and "quality content" will positively affect the development of digital newspaper subscriptions.
