Abstract (EN)
Interior spatial design rapidly developed with the advances in technology and industry after the 19th century Industrial Revolution. After the Second World War the term "Interior Architecture" came into use. The education and profession culture, which started with interior decoration courses, developed. As a result professional establishments, which share the common aim of knowledge organization, determining professional rights and regulations, came into being. These establishments conducted studies on subjects such as; professional process analysis, effect of social structure on interior architecture, international debates and collectivizing all these processes including education. Parallel to the developments in professional field, new perspectives emerged in the educational process. With the effect of different perspectives on professional culture, considering the quality and importance of education, many accreditation organizations formed in order to create a shared structure. International and national organizations determined certain criteria to prohibit the differences in education quality, and to have share conclusions in educational programs. Forming shared criteria in education, arriving certain qualities in professional education and giving the right education, proves to protect professional culture.In the scope of this thesis; the process of interior architecture education, its development and compatibility with social life are evaluated. The Interior Architecture education process in Turkey, educational programs and their contents are compared and evaluated with educational programs of different universities.
