Abstract (EN)

Within the context of Turkey's EU accession process and the EU Communication Strategy, the Turkish public's perception of the EU has an important place. In this respect, public opinion surveys are conducted from different perspectives to reveal Turkish society's view of the EU. However, there are almost no studies on whether the EU perceptions of individuals with different political views differ. Opinion polls play a critical role in understanding and explaining Turkey-EU relations and their dynamics. Accurate analysis of the data obtained from public opinion polls can make important contributions in determining the current state of Turkey's relations with the EU and the steps to be taken in the future. Political orientations may provide an opportunity to reassess the current state of Turkey-EU relations. In this context, the main purpose of this thesis is to determine whether the perception of the EU differs among citizens with different political orientations. In this study, firstly, a literature study was conducted, and secondly, public opinion surveys on Turkey's perception of the EU conducted by institutions, organizations and individuals were examined and compiled. Face-to-face survey technique was used for the research. The survey study titled "EU perceptions of political party voters from the right and left spectrum in Turkey" was conducted with a total of 4140 political party voters. The data obtained were analyzed with SPSS and the results were reported.
