Economic integration of Syrians in Turkey, case study on i̇nönü street in Gaziantep (2011 - 2019)

In this study, due to the civil war in Syria since 2011 Turkey Gaziantep economic integration of Syrians who had migrated to the province were investigated. As of May 2019 in Turkey 3.603.088 there are Syrian citizens under temporary protection. Turkey is to host the Syrians on 3.6 million temporary protected status, which imposes a heavy economic burden on Turkey. The inclusion of the Turkish economy for the Syrians residing in Turkey, it is clear that compliance with the Turkish economy and the need for harmonization laws. several new legal regulations on foreigners in Turkey and / or unregistered work, allows Syrians to begin working in various sectors in Turkey. In this context, it will be possible to say that Syrians are also included in the Turkish economy. However, there are still shortcomings in many areas of legal life, such as work permits, establishment of companies, tax payments and economic life. In the research, small - scale workplaces of Syrians with temporary protection status in Gaziantep İnönü Street were investigated by using Case Study method. A questionnaire consisting of 51 questions about economic adjustment was prepared and an in-depth interview was conducted with 45 small-scale Syrian enterprises and 10 small-scale Turkish enterprises. Although they encounter some deficiencies in some aspects as a result of the research, it has been determined that they adapt to the economy of Gaziantep when adaptation processes are considered.
