Genetic analysis of scorpaena porcus linnaeus, 1758 populations in the Türkiye seas

Abstract (EN)

Scorpaena porcus Linnaeus, 1758 is an economical species found in all seas of our country. In this study, Scorpaena porcus species was sampled from Ardesen (Rize), Fındıklı (Rize), Espiye (Giresun), Fatsa (Ordu), Alaçam (Samsun), Körfez (Kocaeli), Kefken (Kocaeli) and Güllük (Muğla) localities. In this study, it was aimed to reveal the genetic structure of populations by using the sequence analysis method of two mitochondrial genes (COI: 617 bp, 16S rRNA: 803 bp). 14 haplotypes were determined for the COI gene and 21 for the 16S rRNA gene. Haplotype diversity for the COI and 16S rRNA gene regions, Hd: 0.7840 and 0.7964; The nucleotide diversity was determined as Pi: 0.00269 and 0.02706. The genetic distance between and within populations is very low. As a result of the phylogenetic analyzes, the samples belonging to all the studied populations are collected in the same clade and are located in the phylogenetic tree with low bootsrap values. Maximum likelihood trees plotted based on COI and 16S rRNA genes are compatible with each other. With this study, genetic data was provided for the Scorpaena porcus species and information was provided to the literature regarding the missing stations, especially for the Black Sea.
