An evaluation of Quran-centered graduate studies in the field of religious education in Turkey in terms and methods

The Qur'an tells us; by presenting a model of a person who always thinks, educates and develops himself, and has a balanced personality; It aims to raise individuals who gain the consent of Allah and are beneficial to themselves and the society. Allah, the Creator of man, knows best how to train him in the best way. With the first revelation, an illiterate prophet was ordered to 'Read!', which reveals the importance that Almighty Allah gives to education. In this context, the Qur'an, with all its content, is a guide book for education in general and religious education in particular. Based on the thought that the Qur'an is the main book of religious education, in this study, which we have done in order to contribute to religious education a little, the Qur'an-centered postgraduate theses completed in the field of religious education in Turkey have been examined in terms of subject and method. Detected in the database of the National Thesis Center on the subject; The contents of a total of 80 theses, 65 of which are master's and 15 doctoral theses, were introduced and a general summary was made. However, theses; were also examined in terms of the subjects they dealt with and the methods they used. All the obtained data were interpreted by converting them into graphs. When the Qur'an-centered graduate theses completed in the field of religious education are examined; It was seen that most of the theses were done in Marmara, Selçuk and Bursa Uludağ Universities. The topics covered in the theses included in the research; It was understood that he focused on verses, suras, people, stories, education, methods and concepts. Again, in all of the theses on the subject, it was determined that the qualitative research method was used, and a study in which the quantitative or mixed method was used could not be reached. Documentation and literature review are among the most widely used qualitative research techniques.
