Criteria of choosing students for violin education in the faculty of education, department of music education in the universities of Turkey

The main aim of this study is to determine criteria should be taken into consideration, properties of a violin student and put forward proposals when choosing students for violin education in The Faculty of Education, Department of Music Education in universities of Turkey. As the Process of data collection, Qualitative Research is used in order to gather data related to subproblems which were collected via interview held with 3 violin teaching past masters and surveys carried out with 55 violin teachers currently working in universities in Turkey. While the data collected by interview are analysed by Descriptive Analyse Approach and that are collected by surveys are analysed by Statistical Methods. Based on the data gathered from many of the Departments of Music Education, it can be concluded that the criteria about the physical conditions and musical hearing are not being taken into consideration in most of these institutions. Moreover, the state of having motivation, availability and the facilities of institution are overlapping with the standard conditions and current facilities of the institution. Key
