Abstract (EN)

The concepts of Productivity or Efficiency, which exist in all areas of life, are used interchangeably in the economic literature. In its simplest definition, productivity or efficiency refers to producing the required goods or services with the most appropriate speed, quantity, quality, appropriate value resources by providing the highest added value. There is a historical development of productivity in the history of economics, contributed by many different economic schools. Especially in the 20th century, after the Second World War, with the recognition of the need for productivity by countries, institutions with different institution were established in this domain. However, there are limited sources in the literature about the place and activities of these institutions in the country's economy. In this study, which focused on developments in Turkey, starting from the Ottoman productivity concept and its place in the National Productivity Center which is how they institutionalized this of the country's economy, activities, structure, aimed to investigate the contribution of the short history and efficiency awareness. At the same time the development of the concept of productivity in Turkey and National Productivity Center's role in this process is the subject of the research. In the study, research of the concept of productivity and efficiency in the literature, obtained books, articles, slideshows and council compiled as a result of library and the internet research, the world given the example of similar organizations in various countries, the formation until the establishment of a corporate institution on productivity in Turkey, similar institutions have been mentioned, and the National Productivity Center period and its aftermath have been researched and revealed. In the research result, development of the concept of productivity in Turkey, broadcasts, policies and works of the National Productivity Center as effectively play a role, its continue to raise awareness about productivity of people, giving managers training in the field of industrial production by landing on field, by the time doing research on all areas in economy and propose solutions to them, in 2011, information and experience transferring to General Directorate of Productivity was established in the Science, Industry and Technology Ministry, the work on productivity of is maintained by that institution and the subsequent work in the GDP and so the concentration on the relevant institutions with productivity in the development of the concept of efficiency in Turkey's economy of institutions related to it. It has been concluded that it will demonstrate its contribution
