Facebook usage of Turkish Football Federation spor toto super league sports clubs and their fans

In this study it is aimed to find out with which purposes the sports clubs in Turkish Football Federation Sport Toto Super League use the Facebook, which is one of the social networking and how they are placed in Facebook applications. However, another subject that is aimed by this research is to determine the facebook usage of the sport club and the placement on the Facebook as well as the usage means and the interrogation of the differences between them. This is a descriptive research. In the research qualitative and quantative methods were applied together. In the section of qualitative research method is used the research design was phenomenology. The sample group of the research was consisted of 639 fans who are following the official facebook page of Turkish Football Federation Spor Toto Super League sports clubs. The participators in the qualitative section of this research were the five persons who participated in the research from the 18 sports club who were in 2011-2012 Sport Toto League of the Turkish Football Federation. In order to collect data Facebook Usage Scale of the fans of Sports club (SFSC) developped by the researcher. The scale consisted of four sub dimensions as information, following and support, communication, sharing and income-generating applications. Cronbach?s Alpha internal consistency value in regard with all research was (?=0,93). In the qualification section of the research has been benefitted from interviewing. In the analysis of information in the Quantitaive dimension descriptive statistical methods (Average, Standard Variation, Median, Frequency, Rate) are used. On the other hand, in the comparison of qualitative data sole orientation variance analysis (ANOVA) and the finding out the group making differences Tukey test, in the assessment for two groups t test is used. In the qualitative data analysis content analysis has been performed. As a conclusion, while the fans of sport clubs are using the facebook applications there are variables such as ?information, following, and support? , ?sharing?, to make communication? and ?income-generating applications? that effect the usage. While the fans of sport clubs are using the facebook applications the usage of facebook oriented to information, following and support has been placed in the first rank. The fans of the sport clubs identified themselves as follower while they used the facebook. In making decision of sports clubs to be placed in Facebook applications the planning have been observed in regard with fans demands, technological advancements, reaching fans and communication. When the decision is taken to be placed on facebook the campaign, brand and advertisement activities of the clubs have been oriented to this side. In the making communication with fans and reaching them in the silar method the fans have been placed under the roof of Facebook to make communication with other fans and the sport club, to realize the sharing and to follow them. This is the common ground that brings the two sides of this research. Accordingly, we can say that the various factors that effect on being placed on facebook of the sports club is lapped the fans being placed on facebook.
