The relationship migration movements in Turkey and regional socio-economic development (2008-2012)

In the world, constantly and in several directions, migration mobility is experienced for several reasons and it effects immigration countries economically, socially and culturally. The migration beyond a unilateral move is an issue that needed to be addressed in terms of immigration of developed countries, developing countries and under-developed countries. 3 Turkey is also a country which living both external and internal immigration. Turkish Republic has faced with immigration problems for several reasons since its foundation. From the past, today migration profile has varied, seasonal and social occurred in similar or different reasons. Socio-economic development which is one of the main reasons of immigration is both one of the main reasons triggering immigration and consequences of immigration. 7 In this study, the connection of regional internal migration and regional socio-economic development in Turkey is researched. To examine the relation of international migration to regional socio-economic development is used the data of 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 regional internal migration and the data of SEGE-2011 research reports which are regional development indicators. In this study, the affects of migration on consumption expenditures is evaluated. The data obtained from survey evaluated by making "Independent Two-Group T-test", "Multiple Regression Analysis" and "Simple Regression Analysis" by means of SPSS 15.0 software.
