Analysis of the sustainability of the current account balance of turkey

With the acceleration of the free trade approach in th eworld, the change in the account movements of the countries current transactions is increasing. The concept of sustainability of the current account deficit emerged to explain the mobility in the current account. As a matter of fact, it causes the negative change in the current account balance to look for answers to the question of how to create a crisis after that and how to finance this deficit. The imbalances in the current account are one of the main indicators that provide information on the economic stability and performance of the developed and developing countries. This criterion can provide information on the country'se conomic trust in the future, its impact on the economy against a possible crisis and investment in the country's economy. In this study the current account deficit in Turkey is to be able to analyze the sustainability of a subsequent period by examining indicators from 2001. Rate this purpose, the gross domestic product of the current account deficit in Turkey, the relationship between exports and imports, with quarterly periods between 2001-2018 years Johansen co-integration, Granger causality and VECM is analyzed using long and short term coefficient estimates. As a result of the data obtained, the presence of Johansen co-integration shows that the current account deficit is sustainable. In this context, the fact that the long-term independent coefficient coefficients are less than 1 enables us to conclude that the current account deficit for the relevant period is weakly sustainable.
