The systematic index of the Turkish İdman Journal (1-16. numbers)

In this study, it is aimed to introduce the journal to today's readers by examining the first sixteen issues of the Turkish İdman Magazine. In this context, the study, which consists of four parts, includes magazines, books, newspapers, etc. In order to reach the information in the sources, the Turkish İdman Magazine was analyzed by using the systematic review method that provides detailed access to the subject, title, visual and author names. Accordingly, in the first part, sports press, sports magazines, sports newspapers and sports articles in the Ottoman Empire were discussed. The beginning of the publication life of magazines, newspapers and articles that contributed to the formation of the sports press in the Ottoman Empire, and their identity information were examined. In the second part, Turkish İdman Magazine was introduced, the management of the magazine was investigated and the fees, article numbers and page numbers of the first sixteen issues were examined. In the third part of the study, an index study was made and an index was created according to the authors, an index according to the sports branches and an index according to the pictures. The fourth chapter consists of the evaluation of the magazine and examples of works related to football, athletics, boxing, wrestling, aircraft, hockey, scouting, maritime and volleyball sports. When the first sixteen issues of the Turkish İdman Magazine, which contributed to the formation of the sports press in the Ottoman Empire, were examined, it was determined that the focus was more on football. It is thought that the reason for this may be due to the greater interest in the branch of football and the fact that the branch of football appeals to large masses. In addition, it has been observed that the people who are interested in football follow the football matches from the Turkish İdman Magazine rather than the stadiums without tribunes. Despite this, there are also many articles about athletics, boxing, wrestling, aircraft, hockey, scouting, maritime and volleyball sports apart from football. These articles were supported by visuals and aimed to attract the attention of the public.
