Abstract (EN)

Climate change is the significant environmental threat that humanity faced in recent years. Climate change is the biggest environmental threat facing humanity in recent years. Climate change has the negative impacts such as temperature rise, drought, and flood, increased frequency of extreme weather events like severe hurricanes, melting of glacier with the consequential risk factors to the plants, animals and ecosystems, as well as human communities. Turkey is one of the regions that will be most affected by the impacts of climate change, due to its location in Mediterranean Basin. Due to the climatic conditions of agricultural activities, agriculture is one of the most vulnerable sectors against the consequences of climate change. There is a need for measures to protect this sector from the impacts of climate change and to mitigate its impacts on climate change. Two of these concepts step forward as mitigation and adaptation. Adaptation of the agricultural sector to climate change; means reducing the negative effects of climate change on this sector and minimizing the damage. The main purpose of this study was to examine the possible effects of climate change on agriculture in Turkey and are available in a variety of proposals to evaluate the status of compliance of agriculture to climate change. In the study, Turkey has benefited from the SWOT analysis to evaluate the adaptation of agriculture to climate change. Assessing threats and opportunities of Turkey's adaptation to climate change in agriculture is strong and weak points, suggestions have been made.
