Construction sector in Turkey business accidents and occupational diseases

The construction sector is the leading economic sector in many countries around the world. Under the rapidly developing and changing world economy, the importance of construction has increased; as a natural consequence, the construction sector has grown rapidly. The development of the construction sector has also boosted employment in this sector, a result of which has been an increase in business accidentsand occupational diseases.In our country, the construction sector has become one of the sectors with the highest number of occupational accidents and occupational diseases. In this study, the concepts of occupational accidents and occupational diseases in general are discussed within the framework of legislation and the studies on prevention and reduction of occupational accidents and occupational diseases are examined.On the other hand, the assistance provided to the insured suffered as a result of occupational accidents and diseases occurring in the construction sector is also included in the analysis.
