Abstract (EN)

This study focuses on Tohum magazine, which started its publication life in 1963 and is considered as an Islamist magazine. The aim of the study is to read the Islamism of the 1960s and 1970s in Türkiye through this magazine and to place Tohum magazine in its place within Turkish Islamism. For this purpose, the themes related to the subject in Tohum magazine were analyzed and the scope of the study was determined. As a result of the research, it has been determined that Tohum magazine has characteristics that reflect the Islamism of Türkiye in the 1960s and 1970s. These features include the dominance of anti-communist discourse in the magazine, especially in the 1960s, the publication of translations from globally important Islamists of the period, and an understanding of Islamism blended with nationalism from time to time. In addition, the most important feature of the magazine that distinguishes it from the Islamist magazines of the period is that it represents the Imam-Hatip community.
