The aim of this study is determining the cost of one of the rare diseases which we can encounter in Turkey called pJIA. In the study when calculating the annual cost, we have focused on the direct costs from the payer perspective and then found the annual cost per patient by generilazing prevalence datato Turkey via the bottom-up costing method. Total cost for outpatient clinic visit per patient was 545.5 TL, laboratory / imaging cost was 97 TL, total hospitalization / intervention cost was 529.8 TL, drug and material cost was 7.500.2 TL, complication cost was 1.754.1 TL. Total JIA direct cost is 10.426.6 TL per patient per year. Turkey cost for the 0-17 age population with JIA by usin TUIK daha is determined. Accordingly, the prevalence was accepted as 64 per 100 thousand by based on the study conducted by Ozen (Ozen S. et al., 1998: 2445-9) in our country over 22,920,422 children. According to these data, there are 14,670 children with JIA. Costs per patient were generalized to the patient population based on prevalence data andtotal direct cost of treatment for JIA Turkey is found as 152.948.526.10 TL.
