Research i̇nto the textbooks of Turkish, Kazakh literature and Russian literature taught at grade 6 in Turkey and Kazakhstan in terms of value

In the study we used the design of document analysis to examine the textbooks of Turkish, Kazakh and Russian Literature taught at Grade 6 in Turkey and Kazakhstan in terms of value. We examined the textbooks of Turkish Literature, Kazakh Literature and Russian Literature taught at Grade 6 in the schools affiliated to the Ministry of Education in Turkey and Kazakhstan in 2017-2018 teaching years. The reason why we preferred Kazakh and Russian Literature textbooks instead of Kazakh and Russian textbooks is that they are shaped in the focus of the exercises related to grammar. The texts included in the textbooks provided for the study are classified according to their types, and the tutorial texts are excluded from the data set. This classification was made possible by a Turkish Literature expert for the Turkish textbook, and a Kazakh Literature expert who speaks Kazakh and Russian languages for the Kazakh and Russian Literature textbooks. The texts were subjected to descriptive analysis under the title of "values". In order to confirm the correctness of the coding made during the descriptive analysis, part of the data set (story texts in the Turkish textbook only) is coded with the support of a qualitative research expert. In the study in which three different textbooks assigned in Turkey and Kazakhstan in 2017 were examined and compared, the books of Turkish, Kazakh and Russia Literatures were found to differ in terms of values, and the values in the books to change according to the social and political dynamics of these countries. In addition, although the books have more attention to the values with universal and national qualities, they have less attention to religious, scientific and social values, even they have almost no attention to aesthetic values.
