The content analysis og graduate theses written between 2000 and 2010 in the field of chemistry education

The purpose of this study is to analyze the content of master theses written between 2000-2010 in the field of Chemistry Education. In this study, a total of 75 graduate thesis content analysis which were published in the field of chemistry education at Gazi University in Turkey (39), Hacettepe University (16), Marmara University (10), Black Sea Technical University (6), Dokuz Eylul University (3), Ataturk University (1) were scoped out. The content analysis was scoped out according to 38 criteria by making use of the literature, by the researcher. At the end of the research, it was identified that quantitative research techniques and experimental designs were often used. It was often observed that constructivist approach was compared with the traditional teaching approach. It is specified that the study is operated at secondary level, T-test is often used in the analysis of theses data but the factors that threaten the internal validity and how they are taken under control were not specified. It is observed that while the validity of measurement tools used in data collection is cronbach alpha, the measurement tool used for reliability is content validity and it has been conveyed that a simple random sampling selection was done as quota sampling. It is ascertained that pilot study is usually not done for thesis method, sampling sizes ranged between 51-100, the number of pages of research is majored between 101-150 and the rate of female researchers are more than male researchers.
