Comparison of some of the beginer`s methods in classical guitar education in terms of teaching and learning processes in Turkey

Prof. Dr. Sadık YöndemJune 2005, X + 62 pagesThis research is prepared in order make a contribution to the newapproaches and experiments in the light of the obtained results of the comparison ofsome of the beginner?s methods in terms of teaching and learning that are used inclassic guitar education in Turkey.Four methods that are used in classical guitar education in Turkey, with twoof them being native, the other two foreign, have been chosen as examples. Thesemethods have been studied comparatively. The obtained results have been analysedin terms of frequencies and percentage charts.As a result of the study it has been detected that there were discrepancies interms of the content of the preliminary information on the basics music andinstruments of the methods, differences between theoretical and technical elementsthat are designed for the beginners, and also between exercises, preliminary studies,and the number of musical charts, and various suggestions have been made in respectto these results.Key Words: Guitar, Guitar Education, Beginner?s Methods.
