Abstract (EN)

In recent years there have been fast developments in women's cooperatives in Turkey in general and in Gaziantep in particular. Especially after the pandemic, there has been a fast growth in the number of women's cooperatives in Gaziantep. The purpose of this study is to study the influences of women's cooperatives in Gaziantep on the social standing of women in various domains. The focal point is how cooperatives influence women's standing at home, in employment relations, and the public zone. Within the framework, three sets of sampling, namely Moringantep Women's Cooperative, Sada Women's Cooperative, and Ezogelin Women's Cooperative have been utilized. These cooperatives conduct comprehensive social and economic activities to empower women's social standing. As a result of the fieldwork, it has been revealed that women have been part of the decision-making mechanism within the family, women's productivity has been visible by their taking part in employment, and women's acquiring new roles in the public zone has paced their public mobility.
