Comparison of imagination skills and success motivations of handball players in Turkish Leagues in terms of different variables and examining the relationship between them

In today's sports industry, professional athletes use their visualization skills effectively in the process of preparing for competitions and achieving high performance. They need to use these skills, combined with their success motivation skills, in order to overcome the difficulties that may be encountered during competitions and keep their performance at the top. With this research, it was aimed to determine the visualization skills and success motivation levels of handball players competing in the Turkish Handball Federation leagues, to reveal the relationship between them, and to examine different variables in terms of "gender, age, league level in which they played, years of playing (handball) sports and educational status". Relational scanning method was used in the research. In the research conducted, as a data collection tool; "Personal Information Form", "Sports Imagery Inventory" and "Sport-Specific Achievement Motivation Scale" were applied. SPSS 25 package program was used to analyze the data. Frequency and percentage for findings regarding demographic characteristics of athletes; Analysis of variance (one-way ANOVA, t test) was used to compare mean scores in unrelated measurements, Tukey test was used to determine significant differences, and Pearson Correlation Product analysis was used to examine the relationship between sub-dimensions. "Proportional Stratified Sampling Method" was used as the sample determination method of the research. The research group determined by this method consists of 259 (47,1%) female and 291 (52,9%) male handball athletes playing in THF leagues. According to the results of the research, it was concluded that there was a moderate and positive *p<0,05 significant relationship between the visualization skills and success motivation of handball athletes. Another important result is that there is a positive *p<0,05 relationship between the visualization and achievement motivation sub-dimensions at high, medium and low levels.
