Abstract (EN)
One of the most important topics around the world is poverty and the struggle against it. With the globalisation, struggle against poverty has no longer been the problem of only one country, it has become the common problem of all countries including the developed ones. Struggle against poverty is not only important for global development, but also important for regional improvements and with no doubt the development of the countries. Two of the most important financial arguments that we face during the struggle against poverty are the terms Microfinance and Microcredit. Microcredit applications first started in 1976 in Bangladesh and then in the following years became a strategical financial tool for the struggle against poverty and financial development. The year that Microcredit started its applications in the similar context in Turkey is 1995. In the following years different applications was conducted by different institutions. In Turkey, it is a necessity to know the social economic structure of the individuals using Microcredit, to reveal the relationship between this structure and the present situation as a result of Microcredit application (educational status, age, sex, income, occupation, family etc.) and to decide the criterion of success. There are many studies in macro level about current Microcredit applications, but the studies towards the social economic changes of the people having used this credit are very insufficient. In this study as a part of Grameen Microfinance Programme in Turkey, which is applied in many developing and underdeveloped countries aiming women with low income to either start business or to continue their current business, the application in Manisa has been investigated. In this study it has been tried to reveal the criterion of success of the Microcredit applications for the people having used the credit and to find out if there is a relation between the change in the income of the credit using individuals and their social economical structures. The data of the study has been obtained from Manisa Microcredit centre and the data of the people having used credit till April, 2015 and 231 people who are still the users of the credit , has been used. As a result of the analysis a high relation between "Educational Status" and "Occupation" of the people who have used microcredit, has been found and some suggestions have been made.
