The development of modern furniture design in Turkey: An analysis on the leading furniture designers

The subject of this thesis is the development of modern furniture design in Turkey. First, the development of modern furniture design was examined in the historical time period. Then, in the light of the gathered data, modern furniture design in Turkey was evaluated within the scope of the leading furniture designers and the trends that affect. Within the scope of thesis, Yılmaz Zenger, Aziz Sarıyer, Faruk Malhan and Adnan Serbest who were defined as a first generation leading furniture designers of Turkey, was evaluated with in the frame of the headings such as design concepts, design processes and methods, development of furniture design in Turkey. Finally, the development process of furniture design in Turkey was evaluated with the first generation leading furniture designers.
