Abstract (EN)
The aim of this thesis is to comparatively examine the Airbnb user typologies in Egypt and Turkey. First, sharing economy platforms are introduced within the scope of the research, the advantages and disadvantages of Airbnb use and the reasons for using Airbnb are summarized. Then, the studies on Airbnb in tourism are synthesized through systematic literature review. In the research section, the data collected from the participants selected with random sampling in both countries through a survey were analyzed with the multiple correspondence analysis method in order to determine the Airbnb user typologies. According to the research results, "cheapness" is the strongest factor in preferring Airbnb in both countries. The common motivations that follow are quality, security and the feeling of home environment. As for the holiday purpose, rest/relaxation was the dominant reason in both countries. The findings were discussed in the context of the research and conclusions and suggestions were presented. Keywords: Correspondence Analysis, Airbnb, Gender, Generation, Sharing Economy.
