Abstract (EN)
This study explains the economic relationships between Turkey and Nazi Germany by associating them with political events. The study was initiated on the basis of Turkish-German relations during the Weimar Germany period. The main subject of the study begins after the second section. In this section, the conditions that improved Turkish-German relations and the German influence in Turkish economy, Turkey's economic dependency on Nazi Germany, the domestic and foreign economic activities and their effects on the country's foreign relations were addressed by referring to the extent of the economic relations of the two countries. It has been concluded that Turkish-German economic relations have contributed to Turkey's resource problem and the success of its development actions. On the other hand, due to the damage given to the relations of the two countries by Hitler's imperialist goals as of 1938, Turkish economy was negatively affected. In the third section, the state of Turkish economy and the relations between the parties during World War II were addressed. Ankara's expertly implemented politics in order to keep the country out of war, country's economic state and foreign relations were examined. Government's efforts to keep Turkey's neutrality, the struggle to remedy the economic problems the war caused by trying to fix the relations with Germany which were broken in the dawn of war, the balance between Germany and Allies and the important role of economic relations in establishing this balance were addressed.
