Abstract (EN)

While the Turkish language is taught to the international students, the culture element which is the complement of language has to be transferred. The language is evaluated as an item among spiritual culture elements. Language learning may independently be thought as an acculturation process within this scope. Tv series and films, as one of the significant and effective materials in language teaching, have importance within culture transfer. TV series and films contain a great deal of information about the culture of societies. The use of TV series and films in lessons will both provide an enjoyable atmosphere and increase permanency. 30 advanced level students from Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University Turkish and Foreign Language Application and Research Center have participated in this study and all 10 episodes of the first Turkish Netflix tv series have students watched "the protector". Before and after the demonstration of these tv series to the students, open-ended questions in relation to the culture headings specified inside the CEFR have been posed to the students. It has been concluded from the answers given by the students at the C1 level that the tv series contributed to culture transfer.
