Abstract (EN)
This study aims at examining the seasonal changes of Caulerpa taxifolia var. distichophylla Vahl. C. Agardh, a biomass originated in Northeastern Australia – New Caledonia and discovered in Turkish coastline firstly in Iskenderun Bay in 2006, depending on years, temperature, depth and secchi disk depth. In Samandağ (Cevlik) and Arsuz which were designated as the research areas, Caulerpa taxifolia var. distichophylla was not explored in depth contour of 5 meter at Arsuz and Cevlik stations during the research conducted between 2010 - 2011. The highest biomass value reached in the research area was 18,66 gr/m² at a depth of 10 meter in the winter of 2010. The values reached in the resarch were much lower than the values reached in West Mediterranean population but were close to the values reached in the research conducted in natural population. As a result of the research conducted, it is understood that Caulerpa taxifolia var. distichophylla ranging around the Iskenderun Bay, indicated a similar range as it is in the natural environment.
