Abstract (EN)

The concept of terror and terrorism became a hot topic internationally, especially after the terrorist attacks carried out by the Al Qaeda terrorist organization in the United States on September 11, 2001. In Türkiye, the PKK/KCK terrorist organization, FETO, DAESH and left-wing terrorist organizations have been threatening the security of Türkiye's spending in different periods of time for more than fifty (50) years. Because the strategies and methods employed by these organizations vary, the methods employed to combat them vary. Therefore, each terrorist organization needs to be combated using a different method. In this process, Türkiye has followed different paths and methods in the fight against terrorism. In this regard, following the coup attempt attempted by FETO, the strategy of "eliminating terrorism at its source" was implemented in August 2016 in the fight against terrorism, and the first phase began with Operation Euphrates Shield. Since 2015, Türkiye has been tried to be trapped in a spiral of terrorism with armed/bomb attacks carried out by PKK/KCK, DAESH and left-wing terrorist organizations, and the process was subsequently attempted to be completed with the July 15 FETO coup attempt. In the fight against terrorism, Türkiye has begun to implement its strategy of "destroying terrorism at its source" with cross-border operations in northern Syria and Iraq. In this study, the method applied in the strategy in question will be explained and the achievements will be analyzed with statistical data.
