Abstract (EN)
The aim of this research is the investigation of the relationships between the self-efficacy and the self-evaluation of the college students who receive education in Turkey. For that purpose, first of all, it?s aimed that the personal epistemologies, self-evaluations, and the perception of self-efficacies of the students are decided; secondly whether the personal epistemologies, self-evaluations and the self-eficacies of the students changes according to the variables of age, status, and the academic success; and finally by doing multiple regression analysis, whether there is a meaningful relationship between the personal epistemologies, self-evaluations, and self-efficacies. The parameters of the research have been collected from the allien students who are the citizens of several countries and receive education in the private and state universities in Ankara with the method of convenience sampling, based on the principle of willingness. In collection of the parameters of the research, ?Epistemological Beliefs Questionnaire? of which the adaptation was done by KINCAL, ŞAHİN, and KARTAL (2010) (Chan and Elliot, 2002, 2004), ?Core Self-Evaluation Scale? of which the adaptation study was done by GÜRBÜZ, AKKUŞ, and SIĞRI (2010) (Judge, Erez, Bono and Thoresen, 2003), ?General Perceived Self-Efficacy Scale? of which the adaptation study was done by YEŞİLAY (1996) (Jerusalem and Schwarzer, 1981), and ?The Personal Verse Form? developed by the researcher, have been used. As a result of the research, it is determined that the believes of the students about the knowledge and knowing (Their personal epistemologies) are in the pluralistic stage which is still not developed/improved; they have got different epistemological perceptions which are positive or not case by case; their self-evaluations are not on the positive level in the sensual factors; they have got positive evaluations when the ability and the control belong to themselves; in the perception of self-efficacy, they generally have positive perceptions beyond the medium level. It has been understood that the self epistemologies of the students differ according to the variables of age, status, and teh academical success; their self evaluations don?t change according to the variable of age level, but it changes according to the variables of status and the academical success levels; their perceptions of self-efficacy don?t change according to the variables of age and the status, but they change according to the variable of academical success level. In the result of the multiple regression analysis, it has been indicated that there are meaningful relationships between the personal epistemology, self evaluation, and the perception of self-efficacy. Keywords: Personal epistemology, self-evaluation, self-efficacy.
