Abstract (EN)

Every year, the damages of agricultural products caused by frost and frost events are around 15%. Economic losses due to frost in fruit trees are quite high. Because, in most cases, it is necessary to cut down the trees and plant seedlings again. In order to prevent trees from frost, first of all, variety selection, planting place and meteorological conditions should be taken into account. Today, however, many growers build a garden without seeing these facts and are faced with frost damages. Frost exists in a form of advection (completely cold air flow) or radiation (inversion state). Frost damages in the advection conditions are often inevitable, but wind machines are widely used in the fight against radiation frost. In our country, wind machines marketing by different companies which are mostly imported for the purpose of protecting against frost are presented. However, these machines do not have technical and economic comparisons to shed light for farmers. In this study, in order to gather wind machinery data marketed in Turkey, a questionnaire was applied to wind machine manufactures and importers. Questionnaire was including some questions to gather data on technical, economical and machine safety marketed wind machine in Turkey. Thus, the data taken from wind machine companies will help farmers to select and compare the wind machines in the market. that will help manufacturers to compare the machines offered to the market. According to the results, fixed installed machines in our country have 2 to 5 blades, diesel engine of 96 to 141 kW and fuel consumption vary between 19 to 32 l/h and have a tower height of 10 m. Mobile wind machines have 5 blades, gasoline engine of 17 kW and fuel consumption is 5 l/h. The domesticity rate of the marketed machines is approximately 85.71%. It is understood that the unit which has the highest domesticity rate is the steel tower and motor protection parts. It was observed that all the machines were prepared and presented to the market in accordance with the machinery safety directive. Key Words: Wind Machines, Radiation Frost, Frost damage, Fruit Trees.
