Özet (EN)

The share of wind energy increase in electricity system, fluctuations in wind energy has a disruptive effect on system stability and power quality issues which has to be considered. Energy obtained from wind, fluctuates over time, usually due to meteorological events. Fluctuations in seconds, minutes, hours, months, seasons, years, as can be observed at all time scales. The predictability of wind energy fluctuations is highly important for electrical systems integration and in terms of utilization of the highest degree of wind energy. According to ' DPT Turkey's Energy Markets and Supply Security Strategy Document' published in 2009 , installed capacity of wind power plants will be reached 20,000 MW by 2023 ,also with targeted measures for improving usage of renewable energy resources the share of natural gas in electricity production is to be reduced below 30%. Wind energy's share in electricity production to be increased in other words, technically and economically how much a part of the wind energy potential integration can be done without disturbing the balance of power system. For this purpose, electrical grid model was created for reference year 2023. This model operated with added pumped storage hydro electrical power plants and wind power plants. 48,000 MW of wind energy potential for the integration of our country's energy system the proposed solution due to the variability of wind power plants absorbing imbalanced wind generation by utilizing pump storage power plants and adapt the power demand curve. In the future installed pump storage power plants should be close to high wind potential in case of decrease the addition transmission line investments.
