The impact of economic growth in Turkey health spending

All countries in the world aim to create a society of healthy individuals. Because, for a country's economy to be strong and sustainable, a society of healthy individuals is necessary. One of the most important criteria for measuring the development of a country is health indicators. There is a close relationship between the country's health indicators and economic development. In this study, the relationship between health, which is one of the main indicators of economic growth, and economic growth, is examined. As health indicator; general pharmaceutical expenditures, total health expenditures, current health expenditures, gross domestic product, per capita health expenditures and per capita gross domestic product variables were used. Unit root tests, Granger causality test and ARDL bound test were applied to the variables. It was concluded that there was one and two-way causality and co-integration between the variables. In general, health expenditures have a positive effect on economic growth. Key Words: Health Expenditure, Economic Growth, Unit Root Test, Granger Causality, ARDL Bound Test.
