Abstract (EN)
Health is a vital issue for individuals. Unhealthy person will not be useful for society and will be unhappy. There are many factors that have effect on health. These factors are called social determinants of health. Social determinants of health are examined under such titles as education, culture, income and unemployment. Social determinants of health, as they affect the health of individuals, affect the productivity and efficiency of health systems. Therefore, policymakers should focus on social determinants.Hospitals are an important part of any health system that they provide complex curative care that, depending on their capacity, well trained human power, advanced technology and special equipment. There are many academic studies for evaluation of hospital performance. In those studies, regional differences of hospitals, where hospitals serve, are ignored. If relationship between regional differences and hospital performance could be put forth, productivity and efficiency analysis of hospital performance should be reformatted by considering these differences.
