Digitalization in industry and model factories in Turkey

When we look at the world history, the majority of the countries that are called developed and developed countries appear as countries that have made serious breakthroughs and investments in the field of industry. Industrialization that started in England with the First Industrial Revolution; With the Second, Third and Fourth Industrial Revolution, which is being experienced today, it continued with countries such as Germany, the United States of America, China, Japan, and South Korea. The common feature of all these countries is that they have achieved digital transformation in the industry. Turkey, on the other hand, has started to follow the new industrialization trend in the world after 2011 with various policies that it has planned and implemented, and has implemented the "Model Factory" model in the national sense in order to become competitive worldwide. In the first part of the study, the formation, development and results of industrial revolutions as a historical process are discussed and their effects on industrialization are mentioned. In the second part, the situation of digital transformation in the industry in the world and in Turkey is examined, especially China, the USA and European countries that closely followed the Fourth Industrial Revolution in the world. Apart from these, laws and regulations related to securing the digital transformation in Turkey before the state were examined. In the third and last part, Model Factories established in various provinces of Turkey with the aim of contributing to the digital transformation of the industry in Turkey, under the leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, within the framework of cooperation with many Non-Governmental Organizations and International Organizations, and many examinations on the activities of these organizations. It is discussed. However, as a result of the examination, it has been observed that Turkey is still at the beginning of the road, has not reached the targeted level at a sufficient level, but is advancing with great steps in this direction.
