Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to reveal the results of dissertation studies on reading-writing teaching methods with sound-based sentence method in Turkey and offering advice for future scientific studies in the light of these results. In addition, it will offer an insight into practices, problems and formal processes regarding reading-writing teaching with sound-based sentence method. The data group of this research consists of 52 thesis studies on reading-writing teaching with sound-based sentence method in several universities between the years of 2005-2018. The data are analyzed using meta-synthesis method. It is revealed that the literacy practices, literacy teaching knowledge of instructors and components of teaching in this area have improved. It is also concluded that Turkish education was supported by these literacy practices and therefore developed positively. In this context, reading-writing teaching studies present suggestions regarding improvement of instructors, students, parents and other social environments and provide information to researchers on the process.
