The opinions of sociologists in Tturkey about social stratification of Turkey Republic

The phenomenon of social stratification is the most important concern of sociology. Turkısh sociologists weren?t interested in social stratification at the level of European and American sociologists.It is observed that our sociologists who are interested in this concept interection with their ideological reasons. The production of information at this concept is restricted.There are two reasons of that. One of them is limited number of sociologists who investigate on social stratification. Other reason, these sociologists have ideological concerns.This study makes an examination of wiews concerning social stratification in Turkey Republican society by limiting itself to that part of the above mentioned literature which consists of the Works produced in the Republican period by the turkish social scientists and intellectuals. To analyse these views requires an examination of basic concepts concerning the issue of social stratification in sociology. By taking this need into account, firstly, the concepts are used in the explaining the phenomenon of social stratification in obstract are investigated.Following this, the study concantrates, within its specified limits, theories which are related with Turkısh stratification system and concepts which are used in these theories are examined.After that, Our sociologists? ideas which are about structure of Turkey society are made contact with detailed.Finally, the opinions which are about Turkey Republican social stratification system of sociologists are put forward.
