The study was designed according to the qualitative descriptive method, as it aims to show the situation in both the mother tongue teaching program and the textbooks. The materials examined in the study are the mother tongue textbooks published by the Ministries of National Education of both countries to be used in public schools for the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades in the 2021-2022 academic year. As a result of the study, it has been determined that the objectives are different between the programs and textbooks of the two countries and the acquisitions for skills are structured differently, and these skills are not regularly distributed in Tunisian textbooks. In addition, an evaluation was made about how much of the achievements that were required to be gained in the textbooks were realized or not.
