Meaning relationships of idioms and verbs expressing happiness and unhappiness between Turkey Turkish and Kirghiz Turkish

In the thesis named ?Meaning relationships of idioms and verbs expressing happiness and unhappiness between Turkey Turkish and Kirghiz Turkish?, what kind of relationship exists between language and brain, how a person perceives the occurrences around him/her, how a person reacts in the situations concerning his/her own spiritual world, how he/she uses his/her brain in transferring his/her reactions to people around him/her via language, and how brain relates the things with one another are tried to bring to light.Before moving on to the language sample which are going to be investigated, philosophical ideas on happiness and unhappiness asserted beforehand are discussed and how the issue has been comprehended and approached till now is narrated. In order to discuss the issue in a defined frame, concepts of direct happiness and unhappiness expression verbs and sub-concepts of indirect connotations which refer to the happiness and unhappiness directly are formed. As a result of this, three conceptual fields of happiness as ?having fun, laughing and rejoicing?; and seven conceptual fields of unhappiness as ?crying, getting bored, grieving, fearing, being offended, being angry and being sorry? are specified. Sub-conceptual fields of these basic conceptual fields are formed, and the idioms of both dialects related to these subfields are matched based on their meanings with these concepts.The samples evaluated in this study consist of idioms and verbs chosen among 104407 vocabularies (such as words, idioms, nouns or concepts) from Great Turkish Dictionary published by Turkish Language Society for Turkish, and K. K. Yudahin?s Kirghiz Dictionary consisting of 25000 vocabularies, Gülzura Cumakunova?s Turkish-Kirghiz Dicitonary having 50000 vocabularies and Kirghiz Langauge?s Idioms Dictionary including 7980 idioms are used for the samples of Kirghiz Turkish. Apart from these, some other Turkish dictionaries related to the issue are also used so that no vocabulary is overlooked.In this study, the language samples of both Turkish and Kirghiz Turkish are compared, and both similarities and differences of the dialects are tried to be revealed. The verbs and idioms of both languages are analyzed based on their direct or indirect expression of happiness or unhappiness. Besides, verbs and idioms having an indirect relation to those concepts are also classified as a dictionary field in a different chapter.
