Syntactic features of expressions in Turkish

Idioms, an indispensable element of oral and written expression, which holds an important place in the existence of a language and provides the most effective expression in the least word, are the words that should be investigated in terms of their meanings in the deeper structure as well as their characteristics that form the surface structures. In this study, we aimed to examine the forms and types of words that are formed by the words groups that are formed with the meanings of the words. For this purpose, Ömer Asim Aksoy's ( proverbs and Idioms Dictionary 2 ) "İdioms Dictionary", without focusing on the meaning of the phrases in the grammar structures only, the word group structure, idioms and sentence structure, respectively, are classified into two main headings. Each statement has its own category, and it has been tried to determine what word groups constitute the statement. While the sentences were examined, the ones in the sentence structure were classified in addition to the ones in the word group structure. In addition, tables have been created to show the percentages of the examined statements under headings. In this way, it was determined which word group had a lot of expression and how the word groups were connected to each other and the sentence ratio in the sentences.
