Foreign language education in Turkey

This thesis focuses on the foreign language education in Turkey. In accordance with this focus, foreign language education is discussed from a theoretical point of view, language instruction programme in Turkey has been mentioned briefly, its development in history and in Turkish history is examined and its significance is emphasized.The portrait of the circumstances before and within the 2000s ,when the importance of foreign language has been increased significantly, is presented.We might expect an important difference in the human output, who can use foreign language, in a pozitive way with the assist of a consistent state policy on foreign language education, more opportunities of scholarship abroad and providing more technology to the learner. It is of vital importance that a concrate course of action should be taken immediately to develop a sophisticated generation who is successfull at the international area.
