Assesment of investment opportunities in the field of renewable energy in turkey coding with the approach of investors on technology basis

Several reasons, such as increasing energy needs, decreasing fossil fuels and environmental factors, lead states of the whole World towards renewable energy sources. For that reason, states strive to make their countries more attractive in terms of investment in renewable energy through providing a number of conveniences, such as revising their related laws and regulations, offering fed-in-tariffs and eliminating red tape. Although there is a great deal of scholarly works in the literature focusing on such a vital issue, this particular thesis intends to make a contribution to the literature by examining it from the perspective of the investor. By a survey application, it was intended to determine probable investors' willingness to make investment in Turkey and other countries, in which conditions they may want to make investment and the level of importance they attribute to different parameters. By means of the survey application completed with the involvement of both Turkish and international participants from civil society, private and state sectors, it has been possible to evaluate investment preferences of Turkish and international investors and also different work groups. This research, which aimed at helping planning renewable energy incentives based on market perspectives and directed towards Turkey's objectives for year 2030 and generating a framework that adopts those tools, revealed a number of results, such as the fact that foreign investors tend to prioritize stability while the Turkish pay more importance to incentives.
