Effect of problem areas of local media on labour relations in Turkey: Antalya example

This study aims to investigate the effect of major problem areas of local media on working relationships. In the study, the main problem areas of the local media and their effect on the working relations of these problem areas were examined in the example of Antalya.The study consists of four main parts. In the first chapter it has been mentioned local media's history in the Turkey.In the second part of the structuring of the local media in Turkey, problem areas and working relations were discussed. In the third chapter, the daily development of the local media of Antalya was examined.In the last part of the study, collected data were analyzed. Survey technique was used to collect data. A questionnaire consisting of 49 questions was applied to 150 people working in the local media in Antalya.Data were analyzed with SPSS 24 program. Based on the findings of the analyzes, it is seen that the main problems of the local media are economy oriented problems, media oriented trade union oriented problems, lack of professional freedom, labor oriented problems, qualifications of employee oriented problems, news sources oriented problems, advertising oriented problems, circulation and rating oriented problems while the effects of technological inefficiencies on working relationships are low.Moreover, as problems in the local media have diminished, employees' belief in job satisfaction, commitment to the organization, and respect for their profession has increased.
